The Health for Kids Awards
Take a Break salutes those who are teaching our children how to get the very best out of life
Up and down the country, thousands of people are running schemes to help youngsters lead healthier, happier lives. The Health for Kids Awards were set up to recognise the very best.
And Take a Break was delighted to be asked to help judge this year's competition.
The awards - in partnership with the British Heart Foundation - are not just about healthy eating, physical exercise and safety.
They recognise and applaud initiatives that improve all aspects of child health.
This year there were more than 600 entries, and the judges had a tough time selecting the final winners and runners- up.
But in the end they made their decision.
Personal and Social Health: St Basil's Catholic Primary School in Widnes, run by the Hatton and St Helens NHS primary care trust
Emotional Health and Wellbeing: 'Time for Me' Project in Dudley, West Midlands
Physical Activity: The Southwark Tigers Cheerleaders
Healthy Eating: the Wiltshire Young Carers Project
Safety and Citizenship: WASTED
Terri Woodhams of Health for Kids congratulated all the winning projects. She said: 'We are especially pleased that the winners were invited to Downing Street to receive their prize, as confirmation that the Prime Minister recognises and appreciates the efforts from so many to help our children to be fit, healthy and happy.'
